trigger warning: this blog has become a platform for my journey with ptsd following childhood sexual abuse. while my writing isn’t explicit with abuse details, it offers a glimpse into the often pained path of moving on. thanks for being here, where i record my perspective on life and the moments here on the prairie. we are a family of five people, animals alive and buried in the yard, committed to hope and faith, love and joy, clinging to the mystery of peace, tucked in a small town, working to remember the wider world, longing to be grateful in our days and our daze.
I read your preschool website and family website often. I really enjoy your point of view. I am 37, an artist, and a teacher, have 2 little kids, live in Chicago. I just started a blog with illustrations of my family’s daily life, I’d love you to check it out sometime. Thanks for sharing! Krista Genovese

SO excited to have found you! I see so many overlaps: same colour walls, same dishes, similar style… and happy birthday to your nine year old, too! : ) Thank you for your comments.

Hi! Enjoyed your recording of the family. After a busy day – Two services in church, then lunch with Gareth and Kathleen at the Forks… off to a birthday celebration of a 90 year old – home for a little rest and then off to the viewing of a dear friend Peter, who died this week. How refreshing to read your blog tonight … Beautiful family, love you all – we’d love to hug each one of you. Oma/Omi and Opa/Opi.
