so, in a moment of slight desperation and realizing that micah’s day wasn’t going to improve unless he got active outside with someone, we went to the creek…a few blocks away. we let the ice crack under our feet knowing that if it broke through we’d be in less than 2 feet of water. it never broke, but the cracks i made under my weight impressed micah. and the ice bubbles! so cool.
we took eliza back the next day. so very slowly am i growing to be satisfied that it was just 2 out of the 3 kids. i’m learning to be okay with the natural growing of this family. slowly.
it really is a magical place that we visit in all seasons. it had been way too long since our last visit.
when we found these cute raccoon prints, eliza recognized them as kissing hands (from the book).
we just got 5 inches of snow with cold temperatures predicted…i think we’ll go back again. if you’re close enough, you should too!
