i am grateful for an abundance of food, friends and family…
for warm days and fun with static electricity discovered on the trampoline…
for my husband’s determination…
for invitations…
for silly one year olds and two year olds and three year olds…
for big boys who love babies…
for big girls who are simply nice…
for turkeys made of construction paper and glue…
for cooking together and eating leftovers for days…
for email…
for a puppy as young as a newborn…
for safety…
for a repaired wood stove…
for a repaired window…
for connections…
for passion…
for traditions…
for a whirl of days ending in advent.
on this eve when i haven’t been able to do more than a few minutes of work before being called on, it is good to reflect on the goodness. on this eve when all i want to do is hide in the basement with my computer, the tv, my dog and half a glass of wine.
so now i’m signing off to tuck my babies in (again), to deal with the spit that “accidentally fell out” of eliza’s mouth, to tune in to naomi for one more debriefing before sleep, to rub micah’s back because it feels like something is on it, to finish washing the dishes from this morning, to gather supplies for advent at preschool, to lean into it all…
knowing this is all i ever wanted.
perfect.

Those are some gorgeous photos. That log turkey is really cute! Isn’t it a blessing that we not only have so much to be thankful for but can share our bounty with others!
