kids club

what i enjoy the most about kids club is the enthusiasm, the collaboration, the wide range of ages meshing, the unstructured play, the freedom to scream, having fun while at church (this is a significant contrast to my micah’s sunday experiences).

this week we used over 3 bottles of baby shampoo, one baby pool, the slide from our yet-to-be-installed play structure, and water (aware of the luxury this is).

eventually the slide was moved to serve more as a “slip-n-slide boat.”  more good times.

there was also a spontaneous car washing (though i left with layers of dried soap on it…oops).

my kids haven’t been cleaner than this all summer.

  1. I have been stumped by your teaser: “if there’s left over we can give it to baby Mabel” I was a bit nervous at all of the possibilities that went through my head! Glad to know it was only baby shampoo! Looks like a blast.

  2. Too much fun! I totally agree Micah – church should be fun! And hey – did you get that quote from my recent blog post or did you see it somewhere else? Just curious and wondering if you would be interested in her book. I don’t like it. I’ll mail it to you if you want (free), drop me an e-mail if you’re interested.

    1. This is a book my mom quotes from all the time (in her current role as pastor of her church and before that too).

      Your blog inspired me (again)!!!!

I’ve never read it myself more than the bits and pieces from her….and I actually have it on my shelf. Hmmmm.

Not sure why I haven’t read this one. I enjoyed An American Childhood….

      Anyway, thank you, thank you.

  3. Er…any chance an across-the-street-from-the-church neighbor boy might drop by on Kids Club day? As he says, “we help out at that church sometimes,” (I think he means computer stuff)… It all just looks so delightful.

We had enormous fun with that slide last night…and wondered why it was where it was.
