i didn’t even know how much i was waiting for this.
i clearly missed the first day of blooming due to rain storms….though it was kind of handy. we used some of the petals to adorn the cardboard box coffin of the bunny head we found in the back yard.
yes, you read that right. n.a.s.t.y.
since there is rain forecasted, i thought i would pick these blooms to save them.
oh, poppy, i do love you.
That first poppy picture took my breath away. As did the bunny head comment. Thanks for just showing the flowers.

I adore poppies, too. They are such a special flower in that they don’t really survive if you try to pick them and bring them indoors. You just have to enjoy them where they grow. And even then, their beauty is fleeting – a rain, or big wind can just wipe them out. Maybe we wouldn’t feel the same way about them if they were as durable as dandelions.

Hi you all from the two of us. We have come to the end of a wonderful day – a day of thankful hearts and joyous thoughts – my 89th birthday. It was great! We enjoy those close-up pics of the flowers. That used to be my favorite photography with the old style camera … some 50 or more years ago. GREAT!!!! Wish you all well – OPA/omi and OPA/opi
