a year ago i posted a video of the kids catching pigs. we went back this year and did more of it…but no video this time.
what a wholesome event this is. sponsored by agri-urban, a beautiful opportunity to be with animals, trees, hay and fields. the kids made ropes again…and put them to use. micah lassoed my head more than once and naomi added to her outfit. eliza made plans to tie up the cats. we’ll save the kitties.
they visited with the snake lady and found out that when pythons are shedding, they can’t see very well. i could see them staring at the cloudy eyes and cataloging this information.
they held chicks that had hatched the night before. and thankfully didn’t squeeze.
they saw branding in action…on wood, that is. naomi came home and made up her own language of symbols…surely inspired by this.
and one of our favorite little people got his own branding…then walked to show mama.
too bad he doesn’t have a second name starting with U.
That rope making devise (?) is pretty cool! Reminds me of when I lived in an old 1890’s heritage town. Many tools looked like that.
